The pressures of modern life, especially in the wake of the pandemic, can be overwhelming. Many people today face significant emotional, physical, and cognitive challenges, leading to burnout and overstimulation. As a result, more and more of us are searching for ways to heal, improve our coping mechanisms, and enhance our quality of life.
It's well-known that physical exercise, meditation, and mindfulness can have a positive impact on a person's overall wellbeing. By bringing our attention back to the present moment, we can find solutions for both the body and mind.
What many people don't realise is that this is also true for the brain. Our level of suffering is often the result of our brain's tendency to respond in a particular pattern. By giving the brain a "workout," we can tap into its natural resources and create more efficient pathways, greater clarity, and equanimity.
A more efficient and calmer central nervous system can provide us with numerous benefits that enhance our overall wellbeing.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is a powerful type of EEG (electroencephalogram) biofeedback that helps the brain learn to regulate itself for optimal performance. Whether you're an athlete striving for peak performance or someone suffering from anxiety, every brain has the potential to improve its patterns and achieve greater balance, harmony, and equanimity in all aspects of life.
What makes NeurOptimal® unique is its real-time mirroring of the individual's own brain activity. This cutting-edge technology sends information to the user, and the brain makes its own adjustments accordingly. This "brain training" approach allows the brain to become more flexible and resilient, maximizing its own intrinsic resources.
Unlike traditional treatments that require a diagnosis, NeurOptimal® is a training tool that progressively improves brain performance over a series of sessions. With over 20 years of experience and more than 3 million sessions logged worldwide, NeurOptimal® is the most advanced, non-invasive, drug-free, and effective brain training technology available today.
During a NeurOptimal® session, two sensors are attached to the client's scalp and three sensors to their ears. The client sits in an incredibly comfortable position and listens to a 33-minute track of music. They can choose to do something relaxing, like reading, or simply close their eyes and tune out.
The beauty of NeurOptimal® is that it requires no effort or concentration from the client. Once the sensors are connected, the technology does the rest. The system works by detecting and responding to the client's brain activity in real time, guiding it towards optimal functioning. All the client has to do is sit back, relax, and let NeurOptimal® work its magic
Just as yoga and other physical activities enhance strength and flexibility in the body, Neurofeedback brain training provides a workout for the brain. By monitoring the brain's activity and providing feedback in real-time, Neurofeedback promotes self-adjustment and optimal functioning. The system monitors the client's brain activity 256 times per second, and whenever the brain enters electrical turbulence, the system responds with a skip or interruption to the music.
These skips serve as feedback signals, prompting the brain to reset and return to the present moment. Over a series of sessions, the brain is continually brought back to the present moment, building resilience and enhancing performance. With repeated sessions, these positive changes become permanent, creating a more efficient and calmer central nervous system that benefits the client's overall well-being

My interest in neurofeedback was initially sparked by a professional development workshop describing it as a tool for supporting nervous system regulation to assist clients with trauma. After serendipitously meeting Shosh and hearing about her experience, I was keen to explore how NeuroOptimal (a specific brain training neurofeedback tool) may be able to support me in reaching my own health and wellness goals.
I appreciated that there was no need to "do" anything during the sessions - instead I could just relax and "be", while the technology did its thing. As I listened to the moving music and looked out at nature, I found myself gently cultivating a sense of mindfulness, curiosity, and self-compassion without the pressure that sometimes comes with formal meditation practice. In this peaceful context, I could practise offering my brain and my nervous system experiences of safety that provide a necessary contrast to the high alert state and bombardment of triggers of the fight/flight response we experience everyday within the fast-paced, threat-focussed society we live in. I also began to better appreciate the small wonders that are around us all the time such as the movement of trees in the wind or clouds floating in the sky.
The sessions encouraged me to carve out regular time and space for self-care and I think having two sessions per week offered a helpful rhythm.
Over time, I began to notice subtle but notable shifts in my nervous system state - I felt a reduced baseline level of anxiety and felt generally more grounded. Even when life threw significant challenges my way, I found myself approaching them with greater groundedness, acceptance, and peace. While we all dream of a magic pill, in reality healing journeys are complex and multifaceted. I can confidently say that I am grateful for the contribution of the Neurofeedback sessions to my personal healing journey.
I also want to make special mention of Shosh who was always deeply caring, curious, accommodating, and warm. Her clear passion for supporting people to find new and creative ways of boosting their overall health and finding greater peace within themselves truly shines through. Thank you for all your support!"

My son had his 41st session today, he started in October 2022. Well the last few weeks I have seen some incredible changes! He has been so much calmer and happier and all of a sudden he is doing homework easily and without being asked to, he has been asking amazing and mature questions, reading (which he never used to do) and lately he has been organising his bedroom, doing chores without me asking and started rearranging my pantry and being so helpful. He has been asking for sessions and telling me he can now think clearly and more easily and learning is improved (he is in special ed). I'm so happy for him and can't wait to see where he goes from here! I love him so much and I'm so grateful for what NeurOptimal has done for him!

I went through chemo and did a plethora of meditations during that time. ......later, I discovered NeurOptimal®️ and it feels like my chemo fog has been wiped away like the fog on a bathroom mirror. 🥳 . I wish I knew about neurofeedback while I was in chemo and treatment. 🧘♀️
